Laundromat Review Response Templates: 12 Replies to Copy (2026)

Laundromat reviews come in a few predictable types: a machine took someone's money, a dryer didn't heat, the floor was dirty, a wash-and-fold order came back short. These laundromat review response templates cover each of them, plus the five-star reviews most owners never answer. Every reply has a Copy button. Paste it into Google, change the bracketed details, and post.

One warning before you copy: half of consumers are put off by replies that sound templated (BrightLocal, 2026). Use the structure, then change the details every time.

Why laundromat review replies matter more than most

People pick a laundromat on two things they can't check from the street: whether the machines work and whether the place is clean. Reviews are where they check, and your replies are where they see whether anyone is in charge.

The numbers from BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey of 1,002 US adults (source):

FindingShare of consumers
Expect owners to reply to reviews89%
Likely to use a business that replies to all reviews80%
Unlikely to use a business that never replies42%
Unlikely to choose a business with generic or templated replies50%
Expect a reply by the next day32% (up from 18% in 2025)
Won't use a business with fewer than 20 reviews47%

A reply also does something on Google specifically: the reviewer gets a notification, and they can change their review after reading it (Google Business Profile Help). A two-star "dryer ate my money" review that gets a fast refund often becomes a four-star one.

Laundromat review response templates for negative reviews

Every negative reply follows the same four steps: thank them, name the problem in their words, say what you did about it, and take any refund or claim offline.

Machine took their money

Washer took my quarters and never started

Hi [Name], I'm sorry machine [number] took your money without starting. That shouldn't happen, and we've taken it out of service until our technician checks it on [day].

We'd like to refund you. Please call us at [phone] or stop by the attendant desk with the machine number and roughly what time it happened, and we'll sort it out right away.

— [Your name], owner

Card reader or app charged them twice

Got charged twice on the card reader

Hi [Name], thanks for flagging the double charge. We've reported it to our payment provider and checked the reader on machine [number].

Please don't post any card details here. Email [email] with the date and the last four digits of the card and we'll refund the duplicate charge within [X] business days.

Dryer didn't dry

Paid for two cycles and clothes were still wet

Hi [Name], I'm sorry you had to pay twice to get your clothes dry. We checked dryer [number] after your visit and found [a clogged lint vent / a faulty heating element], which we've now fixed.

Next time you're in, show this reply to the attendant and your first dry cycle is on us.

— [Your name]

Dirty machines or floors

Machines were dirty and the floor was sticky

Hi [Name], you're right, and thank you for saying so. Our [evening] cleaning was missed on [day]. We've since added a second wipe-down of every machine at [time] and a checklist the attendant signs off each shift.

I hope you'll give us another try and let me know if it's not up to standard.

— [Your name], owner

Rude or absent attendant

Attendant was rude when I asked for help

Hi [Name], I'm sorry. Nobody should be treated that way when they ask for help, and it's not how we want our team to act. I've spoken with the staff on that shift.

I'd like to hear exactly what happened. Could you call me directly at [phone]?

— [Your name], owner

Wash-and-fold order came back missing items

Wash-and-fold order was missing two shirts

Hi [Name], I'm sorry your order came back short. We tag and count every wash-and-fold bag at drop-off, so we can trace it.

Please call [phone] with your ticket number and we'll check the count sheet and the bins from that day. If we can't find the items, we'll make it right under our lost-item policy.

— [Your name], owner

Wash-and-fold damaged clothes

My sweater shrank in your wash-and-fold

Hi [Name], I'm sorry about your sweater. We sort by care label, but clearly something went wrong with your order.

Please bring the item in or email a photo of it and its label to [email]. We'll review it and follow our damage policy, which [covers replacement up to $X / covers the cost of the item].

— [Your name]

Too hot, no change machine, or out-of-order signs everywhere

Half the machines were out of order

Hi [Name], thanks for the honest review. [Number] machines were down that week waiting on parts, which is too many. They're all back in service now, and we've [ordered spare parts / added a second technician visit] so it doesn't happen again.

— [Your name], owner

Good review, but prices went up

Nice place, but prices went up again

Thanks, [Name], and fair point. We raised prices in [month] for the first time since [year], mainly because of [water and energy costs / new machines]. To keep it cheaper for regulars, [our loyalty card gives every 10th wash free / washes are $X off before 10am on weekdays].

Laundromat review response templates for positive reviews

Most laundromats skip these. Don't: a short, specific reply to a five-star review shows the next person that the owner is around. Mention one thing from their review so it can't be mistaken for a copy-paste.

Clean store, working machines

Cleanest laundromat in the area

Thanks, [Name]! Keeping the machines clean and running is most of the job, so it's great to hear it shows. See you next laundry day.

— [Your name] and the team

Great wash-and-fold service

Wash-and-fold was perfect and ready early

Thank you, [Name]! I'll pass this on to [staff name], who handled your order. If you ever need a pickup or a rush turnaround, just call [phone].

— [Your name]

Friendly attendant

The attendant helped me with the change machine

Thanks for the kind words, [Name]. [Staff name] will be glad to hear it. Helping out is exactly what we want our attendants doing.

Reviews you shouldn't answer with a template

Two kinds of review need more care than a template can give:

  • Reviews that aren't from customers. If you can't match the review to any visit, wash-and-fold ticket or card transaction, flag it for removal under Google's prohibited content policy (Google Business Profile Help) before replying. If you do reply, keep it to one calm line: "We can't find a record of this visit. Please call [phone] so we can look into it."
  • Injury or safety claims. If someone says a machine hurt them or a floor caused a fall, don't argue or admit fault in public. Reply that you take it seriously and ask them to contact you directly, then speak to your insurer.

Never post a customer's full name, card details, order contents or anything else private in a reply. Google's own guidance is not to share personal or confidential information in responses, because replies are public (Google Business Profile Help).

How to make a template sound like you

Three edits turn a template into a reply that doesn't read as automated:

  1. Use a real detail. The machine number, the day, the staff member's first name. A detail from their review proves you read it.
  2. Say what changed. "We've added a second wipe-down at 8pm" beats "we'll look into it" every time.
  3. Sign it. A first name and "owner" tells people a person wrote this, not a tool.

If you'd rather start from the review itself, paste it into our free review response generator and it drafts a reply you can edit.
