Best GBP Audit Chrome Extensions (2026)

Auditing a Google Business Profile from a dashboard means copying a business name into a form, waiting, and reading a report. Doing it from a Chrome extension means seeing the answer while you are already looking at the map. For anything involving more than one business, the second workflow wins so decisively that it is worth knowing exactly which extensions are worth installing.

The honest answer is that there are five. Not fifteen — the roundups listing fifteen are padding with dashboards that happen to have a browser plugin. These five actually run inside Google Maps and Search and actually get used.

I build one of them, so treat the section about Lead Oracle AI accordingly. I have tried to be specific enough about where each tool wins that you can check my work.

Pricing and features above were checked against each vendor's own site in August 2026. Third-party roundups quote figures for several of these tools that no longer match what the vendors publish, so verify before you buy.

GMB Everywhere — The Default, And Mostly Deservedly

GMB Everywhere is what most local SEOs install first, and it has the widest raw feature count in this list for investigating a profile you have already decided matters.

Their site lists seven tools: a Basic Audit returning place ID, knowledge ID, CID, services and attributes alongside a claimed 40-plus additional data points; a Review Audit covering review trends with keyword analysis and filtering; a Post Audit for post timeline and frequency; Local Scan for comparing competitor profiles side by side; Category Finder for related categories and their traffic potential; Teleport for checking rankings across different locations and search terms; and AI tools for generating posts, review replies, descriptions and Q&A.

Teleport is the feature nothing else here matches. Being able to check how a business ranks from a different physical location, from inside the browser, without opening a separate geo-grid product, is genuinely useful for service-area businesses.

The tradeoff is the workflow. Everything starts with selecting a business, which means the tool assumes you already know which business you care about. And metering is credit-based across the tools, so audits spent on profiles that turn out to be fine are credits gone.

Pick it if: you do deep research on specific profiles, or you need rank checking from multiple locations.

Lead Oracle AI — Scores Everything First, Then Audits in Depth

Our extension adds a step in front of the standard workflow rather than replacing it. A 0–100 health score lands on every business in the results as soon as the page loads — on Google Maps, the local pack on Search, and the Local Finder. Under 50 is red, 50 to 69 amber, 70 and up green. The score comes from the public signals that drive map-pack ranking: primary and secondary categories, review quantity and velocity, star rating, photo count, posting activity, profile completeness, and website health.

Then you click, and it does the same research the other tools here do:

  • Audit sidebar — what is wrong with that specific profile, ordered by ranking impact rather than alphabetically, written in plain language you can paste into an outreach email
  • Review audit — count, average rating, and the rating distribution charted over time, plus AI-drafted replies to individual reviews
  • Categories, hours, attributes — per listing, and summarized across the whole ranking set
  • Local Scan — the market in aggregate across five tabs: what it takes to compete here including how many ranking businesses have no website at all, category usage with counts, review averages plus market high and low, business hour patterns, and which attributes competitors have left empty. Keeps scan history and exports to CSV.
  • Full reports — one click turns a listing into a shareable audit report, white-labeled on paid plans

Nothing to configure and no API key. Install, sign in to a free account, and badges appear on your next search.

The part worth being specific about is what the free tier does not meter. Score badges are unlimited — every business in every search, no monthly cap. Local Scan market breakdowns are included the same way. What is metered is the deliverable: 5 full audit reports per month, shareable by link, no credit card, with saved prospects capped at 10. Paid plans start at $49/month for higher report volume, white-label branding, emailing reports straight to a prospect, and CSV export of the prospect list.

That is a different metering shape from the other paid tool here. GMB Everywhere's free tier runs on credits shared across audits, Teleport, AI tools and Category Finder, so investigating is what you spend. Under unmetered scoring, looking is free and cost attaches only to what you hand a client.

The gaps: no teleport-style rank checking, no raw identifiers like knowledge ID or CID, and AI drafting covers review replies rather than posts and descriptions. GMB Everywhere covers all three.

Pick it if: you audit at volume and want to know which profiles are weak before you start clicking, then hand someone a report about it — or you simply want the survey work to cost nothing.

Phantom — Free, And Surprisingly Thorough on Exports

Phantom, built by SEO consultant Dalton Luka, is a Chrome extension that audits profiles from Search and Maps with a clear emphasis on getting data out. It displays primary and additional categories, exports profile information — name, categories, reviews, photos — to CSV, runs review audits covering velocity and frequency with review export, and runs photo audits tracking photo and video upload patterns with media export.

The extension is currently free to install, though the developer notes that new features are in development and additional features may not be free. So treat the current price as a snapshot rather than a promise.

Photo and media upload history is an unusual thing to expose, and it is genuinely useful — a profile that stopped uploading photos eighteen months ago is a specific, demonstrable sign of neglect.

Pick it if: you want review and photo history out as CSV without paying, and you are comfortable with a tool whose pricing may change.

GMBspy — Does One Thing, Free, Forever

GMBspy is the most narrowly scoped tool here and that is the point. Open a business on Maps or Search, fire the extension, and it shows that listing's primary and secondary categories — data Google collects but does not display. A Local Pack tab shows categories for the map pack results, and you can export a CSV of names with primary and secondary categories for the top 20 ranked listings.

That is the whole product. Completely free, no subscription, no account.

Categories are arguably the single highest-leverage GBP field, and a tool that answers "what categories are the winners using" in two seconds with zero cost earns its place in the toolbar regardless of what else you run.

Pick it if: you want category data and nothing else, or you want a free second opinion alongside a paid tool.

PlePer — Category Research Across Countries

PlePer is a local SEO toolset with a Chrome extension attached, and its distinguishing strength is category research that accounts for country. GBP category availability is not uniform across markets, and if you work internationally that is a real problem most tools ignore.

Worth correcting a common claim: third-party roundups frequently describe PlePer as having a free plan plus a $10/month pro tier. Their own pricing page lists four paid plans and no free plan — $18/year for monitoring a single listing, $10/month for 10 listings, $25/month for 50, and $150/month for 500 — with all tiers including full tool access at differing monitoring frequencies and analysis limits.

The $18/year single-listing tier is remarkable value if you manage one business and want ongoing monitoring rather than spot audits.

Pick it if: you work across countries and need accurate category availability, or you want cheap continuous monitoring of a small set of listings.

How to Actually Choose

The useful question is not which tool has the most features. Both of the full-featured options audit a profile properly. It is how you arrive at the profile, and which extras you actually need.

If you always know which profile you are looking at — a client asks why a competitor outranks them, you are preparing an onboarding audit, you need the raw identifiers — either full tool works, and GMB Everywhere edges it on identifiers and on Teleport if rank checking matters. GMBspy free alongside for fast category checks.

If you have to find the profile first — you need to spot under-optimized businesses across a market and open a conversation — you want triage in front of the audit, plus a report you can hand over. That is what Lead Oracle AI is shaped for, and it does the per-listing audit once you get there.

If you are cost-constrained, you have more room than the pricing pages suggest. GMBspy plus Phantom covers categories, reviews, photo history and CSV export for nothing. Lead Oracle AI's free tier adds unlimited profile scoring and unlimited Local Scan market breakdowns, which means the survey and triage work — looking at fifty businesses to see which are weak — costs nothing at all. Anyone telling you a paid tool is mandatory to audit a profile is selling something. What paid tiers actually buy is volume and client-facing output: white-label branding, direct sending, exports. If auditing is part of how you sell, that output is the product.

If you work internationally, PlePer's country-aware category data solves a problem the others do not address at all.

Running two or three of these is normal. They do not conflict, none of them costs meaningful money at the low end, and the combination of a scoring tool for triage and a research tool for depth beats either one alone.

Key Takeaways

  • Five extensions are worth installing; longer lists are padded with dashboards
  • GMB Everywhere is the deepest single-profile research tool, and Teleport has no equivalent here
  • Lead Oracle AI audits just as deeply per listing, but scores every result first so you know where to look
  • GMBspy and Phantom cover a lot of real ground for free, and Lead Oracle AI leaves scoring and market scans unmetered, so surveying a market costs nothing
  • PlePer is the only tool here with no free tier at all
  • PlePer's country-specific categories matter if you work outside one market
  • Verify pricing on vendor sites — several widely-quoted figures for these tools are out of date

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the best Google Business Profile audit Chrome extension in 2026? Both GMB Everywhere and Lead Oracle AI audit a profile in depth. GMB Everywhere adds Teleport, raw identifiers, and AI post generation. Lead Oracle AI scores every result before you click, then adds market-level scans, a prospect shortlist, and sendable white-label reports. GMBspy is the best free option if all you need is competitor categories.

Q: Is there a free GBP audit Chrome extension? Several, differing in what they limit. GMBspy is completely free with no subscription. Phantom is currently free to install and covers categories, reviews, photos and CSV export. Lead Oracle AI does not meter the research — unlimited scoring and Local Scan — and caps only sendable reports at 5 per month. GMB Everywhere's free tier runs on shared credits, so investigating draws them down. PlePer has no free plan at all.

Q: Why do these extensions show data Google hides? Everything they surface is public data Google already renders or returns — including secondary categories, which Google sends but does not display. None of them need access to the owner's account.

Q: Do I need a paid plan to audit Google Business Profiles? Not to audit them. Free tiers handle occasional work. Paid plans buy volume and client-facing output: white-label branding, sending reports to prospects, CSV export.

Q: Can I use more than one at the same time? Yes, and most experienced local SEOs do. Pairing a tool that scores the whole results page with one that covers the extras it lacks — rank checking, raw identifiers — beats either alone, and a free category checker costs nothing to add.
